Expectation of future businesses is US$ 14 million
In order to further improve the good number of exports ofmedical devices to Latin America (42% of the import market of Brazilian products is in the region), from August6th to August 8th , 35 companies associated to Brazilian Health Devices attended to FIME (Florida International Medical Expo), the most important event focused on health in the United States, which although occurs in the North American country, it focuses on the Latin American market.
FIME é is specialized in equipments for the medical field, covering biomedical products, communications technology, diagnostic equipment, disposable medical products, electro-medical equipment, emergency equipment, hospital equipment, laboratory equipment, care products in the long term, medicines, nursing and orthopedics care, pharmaceuticals, rehabilitation products, surgery, treatment appliances, among others.
The Brazilian companies attendance for the 12thconsecutive year is important so they can meet their distributors and close deals for the entire second semester of the year.
The turnover achieved in this edition was $ 664 thousand, to countries such as Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic. The expectation of future business in the next 12 months, as a result of contacts made ??by companies during the fair is $ 14 million. Over 1,200 contacts were made with potential customers from 56 countries.
This was the first participation of Braile Biomédica at FIME and also in an international fair as an exhibitor. The main expectation of the company was to meet with specialized distributors in hemodynamics and cardiac surgery. "We intend to participate in major trade fairs in partnership with ABIMO", says Lineu Andrade, exports coordinator of the company. According to him the company's business strategy involves the opening of newmarkets, the initial focus is to expand the company's sales to major markets in Latin America: "Currently we already have distributors in Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and El Salvador" he says.
The results obtained with the participation of Braille at the fair exceeded the expectations. The stand received over 50 visitors, including distributors and physicians, coming from about 20 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. "We have some negotiations already in progress and the expectation after participation in FIME is that by the end of the year we will have distribution network for our products in approximately seven new countries," says Andrade.
"FIME was an excellent event to reach the Latin American audience," says Leandro Real, coordinator of DFV exports. "We made contacts with potential distributors in this region. Very wise move to be present at the event."
